Do you have just stained your favorite dress? Don’t panic!
Stains problems afflict every houses and it is impossible to avoid them.
In order to remove stains efficiently we have to take into consideration two basic aspects: what type of stain is (coffee, grass, ink…) and which fiber is stained (cotton, wool…).
What is important is to act immediately: stain has to be removed as fast as you can so that it doesn’t seep though fibers and doesn’t tie to them. The more the stain is dry, the more it will be complicated to remove it.
On the market you find a lot of chemical products, anti or remover stain, but they are very aggressive.
Here some green solution to remove stains from your clothes!
COFFEE
You are drinking a coffee and a drop of it falls on your trousers or shirt. How many time did it happen to you? I guess a lot..
If your garment is composed by cotton you can remove the satin using sparkling water or very hot water. An option can be lukewarm water with some drops of hydrogen peroxide.
Of your garment is made by silk you can soak it one night long with hot water and 2 cups of apple cider vinegar.
SWEAT
One of the most strong stain that can threaten your clothing is those yellow-sweat stain.
Wash your silk or cotton garment with hydrogen peroxide and vinegar.
With cotton you can also use a spray with a solution of water and vodka in equal parts, allow it to act for 15 minutes then wash it in lukewarm water.
Is the stain already dry? Use lemon juice on it and allow it to act for 30 minutes then wash in the washing machine with lukewarm water.
GRASS
Spring and warm temperature encourage you to spend days outdoor: walking through a park, play in the garden…
Grass is a difficult stain to remove so it is better to soak immediately your garment in lukewarm water or in cold milk. Don’t rub your garment to remove the stain, preserve fibers!
This solution works for every fabric, about all for cotton.
If grass stain is already dry, it needs a pre treatment: rubbing it with lemon juice.
For your wool garment: pre treatment with warm water and alcohol then wash with water and vinegar.
